Welcome to UK Statement Converter ("Service"), operated by ExactSum ("Company", "we", "our", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at ukstatementconverter.co.uk and the bank statement conversion services we provide.

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

UK Statement Converter provides an online service that converts PDF bank statements into Excel (XLSX) and CSV formats. The Service uses optical character recognition (OCR) and data extraction technology to process your documents.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of our Service, you may need to create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our Service.

4. Free and Paid Services

Free Tier

We offer limited free access to our Service:

• Anonymous users: 1 page conversion (no account required)
• Registered free accounts: 3 pages per day

Paid Subscriptions

Paid plans provide higher page allowances and additional features. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

• Pay the applicable subscription fees in advance
• Automatic renewal at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled
• Provide valid payment information

Overage Charges

If you exceed your monthly page allowance, additional pages will be charged at £0.08 per page. Overage charges are added to your next invoice.

5. Billing and Payment

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your chosen plan. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

• All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable
• You authorise us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred
• Failed payments may result in suspension of your account

6. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:

• You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
• Your account will revert to the free tier after the billing period ends
• No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period

Refunds

We offer refunds under the following circumstances:

• 14-day cooling-off period: Request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase if you have not used the Service
• Service issues: If we fail to provide the Service as described, you may be entitled to a pro-rata refund

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Upload documents you do not have the right to process
• Use the Service to process fraudulent, forged, or illegally obtained documents

• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorisation
• Upload malicious files or content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-uploaded documents), is owned by ExactSum and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights to the bank statements you upload and the converted files you download. We claim no ownership over your documents.

9. Accuracy and Limitations

While we strive for high accuracy in our conversions, you acknowledge that:

• OCR technology may occasionally produce errors, especially with poor quality scans
• You are responsible for reviewing converted files for accuracy
• The Service should not be used as the sole source of financial data for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes without verification
• We do not guarantee 100% accuracy and recommend manual verification of important data

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ExactSum, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Documents you upload to the Service

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:

• You breach these Terms
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the Service
• Your use poses a security risk

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
